PHEBE YAWSON’S SHE CRIED WOLF

One word review: Fresh!

Much more wordy review:
Phebe Yawson brings a style, rhythm, and soul to her newest novel; a coming of age story where EVERYTHING the protagonist knew is a lie.

Tyese is an amazingly talented young girl who purposefully hides in mediocrity until, on the day of her high school graduation, she is thrust into HER reality, where relationships were formed on lies, evils really do go Bump in the night, and the fantastically impossible becomes the facts of life.

Written in a vibrant voice that feels unique yet dances almost like poetry, Tyese feels real, poignant and refreshing. Honest feelings leak from the page, starting gently, warmly, before spiraling into the madness of the adventure.

From energetic and mystical combat to almost smelling the scenes, She Cried Wolf is already an instant favorite.

Heck, it even has the most touching farting scene I ever read, which is a sentence I NEVER thought I’d write.

Give it a look through. If you love YA, Urban fantasy, or coming of age, you owe it to yourself.
